So as she lifted the lid....she could hear chirping crickets; thousands of crickets. Apprehensively,she touched one and it started moving.She was scared - it leapt out of the tin. After a short while, thousands of scurrying crickets were everywhere. She did not know what to do....she thought for a minute and came up with an idea! She needed to find a tarantula - she knew where to get one. She sprinted out of the door and charged straight to her granddad's house and carefully grabbed the spider to take back to eat the crickets. Soon they were gone.

Our year 5 trip to the town hall By Charlie M
On the 13th of May, we went to the Great Yarmouth town hall and met the mayor and had a debate. Okay I will start from the beginning. When we arrived we were taken to the COUNCIL CHAMBERS to look around. One of the councillors spoke to us about what the council does for the borough. Then, during break, we had some juice and a biscuit before having our debate. This is where it gets exiting.Once we all finished our snack we went to have our debate about facilities for the under 10s, teenagers and the over 60s.It didn't take too long but it felt like a long time (don't ask me why). Afterwards, we had a vote and the over 60s won! We then made our way back to school. It was so much fun!

Quickly, the dwarf explorer climbed to the top of the tree stump. He spotted a gigantosaurus
(by humans a crow.) The crow swilled him down and the lego man couldn't find a way out.
He didn't want to be digested. (He was thinking how to get out!) Suddenly, he thought if he killed
the crow he would fall so the lego man could get out. He killed the crow by stabbing his heart with a razor sharp knife. The crow fell to the ground. it was a bumpy ride for the explorer. The explorer had finally escaped the bird's bleeding jaws.

Hungrily, a Lego figure called Taylor ran to get some food. Suddenly, she came across a big creature. It picked her up and she started screaming. She was terrified, she did'nt know what to do. She was trying to push herself out but she couldn't. She kept trying and trying. Eventually, she got out but the creature followed her everywhere she went. She got to the shop and the creature waited outside until she got back out but she didn't go out that way. She went out the back of the shop. When she got out she charged home.

We saw the mayor. It was such fun. We sat on the benches in the actual council chambers in the town hall. The councillors told us what they do and spoke about the council. They asked me some questions. Holly spoke about the sports in the community and told us about a volley ball competitions in June on the beach - I had a great morning!

You would not believe what I did yesterday!! I went to the town hall. I went to the court room and pretended to be a councillor. Everyone was debating about facilites in the community for the under 10's, teenagers and the over 60's. Riley became mayor of Great Yarmouth. IT WAS FUN!

You won't believe what I did yesterday! Me and my class went on a trip! We went to the town hall in Yarmouth. I couldn't believe my eyes! I saw the mayor, I felt so happy. After seeing her we had lunch. I had an apple, a sandwich, a KitKat and a roll of cream with chocolate on the outside! One of our class members dressed up as the mayor and acted like one! He even got to bang the hammer on the table (the hammer used to make all the people in their quiet). Basically, its a chamber and they have a discussion about problems what happen in Yarmouth!

Guess what happened yesterday?! My class went to the town hall and we held a debate in the chambers. We took part in an activity. I was in under 10's group with lots of my friends. The person that presented our speech was Thomas and Dion and Charlie-J. They put on a good argument with Shannon and Danny. At the end Danny and his group won the debate with their presentation on elderly people and the facilities in the community. Riley became the mayor of Great Yarmouth and we will still joke about it now. It was fun meeting the mayor again and I hope to see her again soon.
(Riley wore a dress kind of thing ).

Yesterdays trip
Yesterday our whole class went to the town hall! We met the mayor of Great Yarmouth! Riley became the mayor of Great Yarmouth. We ate in the councilor's chambers. We had a debate about the facililies of under ten , teenagers and over 60 in the community. It was brilliant.🎊😅😅😇😏😔🚗🚒🚄🚢

You wouldn't believe what happened yesterday. We went to the town hall. The mayor was there and some other people who were the Councillors. They talked to us about the council and they asked what we wanted to change about where we live .(I want to change littering!) Then we had a break with some biscuits and juice. Next, we went back to the court where Riley (from the class) was the mayor!! We had a debate then it was lunch. Our lunch consisted of a sandwich , two chocolate bars, crisps and a drink. Finally before we went back to school we had a photo on the stairs. We got on the mini bus and went back to school and that's our day at the town hall.

You would not believe what I did yesterday!!
We went to the town hall and we saw the mayor and all the other councilors that work there. We saw an amazing sword and lots of other artifacts. We went to the chambers and we learnt all about the things the council does for the borough. We were in there until break time and we got a drink and a snack. Then we went back in the chamber and we presented our debates on the facilities in the community for teenagers. Riley was the mayor of Great Yarmouth and we had to present a speech about the group of people that we researched. The group that won was the over 60's. We had lunch. We ate a sandwich and a drink. After lunch we went on the mini bus and went back to school.

I can't believe who I saw yesterday, She gave me a tour of the town hall's old court room. It was the mayor! I have met her twice now. Before lunch Riley my friend at school, became the mayor! Ps: Its only fake that he became the mayor, but it was amazing!So later at lunch, everyone had a drink either blackcurrant, orange or apple. We had an apple, an ordinary apple, a chocolate mini roll, a sandwich but a cheese and brown bread one or a ham and white bread one. The last thing of all was a KitKat.I thought it was the best school trip I have ever had! Oh and let me not forget that I was councillor Williamson! Well I was in his space on the bench. I found out that it cost £60,000,000 to have 4 lanes on the Acle straight! I kind of didn't listen to the other questions asked! Sorry! I had a great time at the town hall! At the beginning when we came in, me and my friend Emily saw a gold sword on the outside and a coat on the inside of the sword! Me and Emily thought it is the Kings sword! It was amazing! I had a great time!

Town Hall Visit
Yesterday, we were invited by the mayor's P.A. to visit the town hall as part of our IPC topic: Champions for Change. We learnt about the council and what they do for the borough. We also had a debate about the facilities in the community for the under 10's, teenagers and the over 60's. Riley was able to dress up as the mayor!! The children had lunch at the town hall and they sat in the council chambers and ate it!!
